Emerging from Mutt Lange’s camp as an engineer, writer/producer, Kevin Churko, has worked on records for Britney Spears, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Slash and Ringo Starr, among many others. Churko’s songwriting/engineering chops led to his co-writing and co-producing Ozzy Osbourne’s Black Rain and Scream albums.
Churko has four Juno Awards (Canada’s version of the Grammys) to his credit for his engineering work that includes the aforementioned Black Rain and Scream albums, and Five Finger Death Punch’s American Capitalist. Due to the massive airplay of Ozzy’s “I Don’t Wanna Stop,” Churko received the Number One Song Award by his Canadian performing rights society, SOCAN. “Stop” was also a top Billboard Rock track. Kevin is also a multiple Juno nominee for Producer of the Year for his work on Black Rain, In This Moment’s The Dream, Modern Science and FFDP’s, American Capitalist.
Canadian-bred and residing in Las Vegas where he works out of his studio, The Hideout (formally Audio Mixhouse), Kevin has gone on to co-write and produce Five Finger Death Punch’s last five albums, including their latest, Got Your Six. In the U.S., War Is The Answer has gone platinum and three other FFDP Churko-produced releases have gone Gold. Several Churko co-writes have reached number one on the U.S. rock charts, including FFDP’s “Battle Born” and “The Wrong Side of Heaven.” His work with In This Moment produced Century Media’s greatest selling single, “Blood” (2012).
Disturbed chose Kevin to co-write and produce their latest, Immortalized, which yielded two rock radio number ones – “The Light” and Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence.” The album entered the Billboard album chart at number one and remains on the chart for over a year.
Current releases with Churko include Hellyeah’s Unden!able, Skillet’s Unleashed and Gemini Syndrome’s Momento Mori.
